Darren Roy Mack Surrenders to Mexican Immigration Authorities

Steven Martinez, Special Agent in Charge of the Las Vegas Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) announces that on June 23, 2006 at approximately 12:15 am Central Standard Time, Darren Roy Mack surrendered to Mexican Immigration authorities in the lobby of a hotel in Puerta Vallarta, Mexico. Mack was taken into custody without incident. The surrender occurred after extensive investigation by the FBI and the Reno Police Department. Mack was lodged in a Mexican jail facility overnight pending flight arrangements to the United States.

Mack will be transported to the United States by FBI Agents and Mexican Immigration Officials early this morning, arriving in the United States at approximately 12:30 pm Central Standard Time.

Mack has been the subject of an extensive international manhunt spearheaded by the FBI, the Reno Police Department, the Washoe County Sheriff's Office and the U.S. Marshals Service since June 12, 2006 when he allegedly murdered his ex-spouse, Charla Mack, and seriously wounded Washoe County Family Court Judge Chuck Weller at Reno, Nevada.
